Review by hotel critic
At first glance, Gaestehaus An Der Peitnach-Hotel Zum Dragoner seemed a little underwhelming, with its plain exterior and a bar on the ground floor. I was pleasantly surprised. My room had a charming, vintage vibe that instantly made me feel at home. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the dining experience. I ventured down to Xaver Bar, where the atmosphere was laid-back, yet refined. I immersed myself in their impressive selection of over 550 whiskies, sampling a few delightful single malts from around the globe. I found myself enjoying dishes that showcased local flavors, like the seasonal asparagus and mushroom offerings, which resonated with my palate. The restaurant also flaunted an array of tarte flambées that served as perfect accompaniments to the variety of Peitinger beers available—over 20 local brews, each telling a tale of its rich heritage. The lounge area was comfortable and the music was tailored just right, allowing me to savor every bite and sip without distraction. If you're looking to indulge in a culinary journey while experiencing a slice of local beer culture, I highly recommend this hotel for your next getaway.
